Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LCAR-M23 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target mesothelin (MSLN), a cell surface glycoprotein frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors, including epithelial ovarian cancer. Developed by Legend Biotech in collaboration with Shanghai East Hospital, the therapy involves the infusion of autologous T cells genetically engineered to express a CAR specific for mesothelin. The treatment protocol typically includes a lymphodepleting conditioning regimen of cyclophosphamide and fludarabine prior to a single infusion of the CAR-T cells. A Phase I clinical trial evaluating LCAR-M23 in patients with relapsed or refractory epithelial ovarian cancer was initiated but subsequently terminated.
