LCAR-M61D cells is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, where it is being studied alongside a related cell preparation, LCAR-M61S. The therapy involves the infusion of autologous T cells that have been genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor targeting an undisclosed antigen on myeloma cells. The clinical trial (NCT05682313) assesses the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and antitumor efficacy of the cells in patients who have received at least three prior lines of therapy. LCAR-M61D is administered as a single intravenous infusion following a standard lymphodepleting chemotherapy regimen.
