LCAR-M61S is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), currently under development for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Developed by The First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University (Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital), LCAR-M61S utilizes a chimeric antigen receptor to redirect T cells to recognize and eliminate BCMA-expressing malignant plasma cells. It is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials (e.g., NCT05682313) to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in patients who have failed multiple prior lines of therapy. The therapy is often studied alongside a related construct, LCAR-M61D, to compare different CAR architectures.
