Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LCAR-M61SQ is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Legend Biotech for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). The therapy consists of a patient's own T cells that have been genetically engineered to express a CAR targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein significantly overexpressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. LCAR-M61SQ is a next-generation candidate in the Legend Biotech pipeline, specifically optimized for potential subcutaneous (SQ) administration in addition to traditional intravenous infusion. The exploration of subcutaneous delivery aims to improve the ease of administration and potentially mitigate the severity of adverse events such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS), which are common with intravenous CAR-T therapies. It is currently undergoing early-phase clinical evaluation to determine its safety, pharmacokinetics, and clinical efficacy profile.
