LCAR02 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting the CD19 antigen, developed by Anhui Provincial Hospital (The First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China). The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for CD19, a protein widely expressed on the surface of B-cell lineage cells. Upon re-infusion into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD19-positive malignant B cells, leading to T-cell activation, expansion, and targeted cytotoxicity. LCAR02 is primarily being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas.
