LCAR1901 is a Chimeric Antigen Receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy that involves genetically modifying a patient's own T-cells to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). These engineered T-cells are designed to recognize and target cancer cells expressing both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19 proteins on their surface. This dual-targeting approach aims to provide a potent and specific treatment for relapsed and refractory blood cancers, including B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and immune thrombocytopenia. The therapy works by directing the modified T-cells to attack and destroy the cancer cells.
