Overview

LCTG-002 is a pooled, purified human milk secretory IgA (sIgA) biologic being developed by Lactiga as an airway-delivered, polyclonal antibody therapy for prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and other mucosal respiratory infections.[1][2][3][11] IgA is extracted from pooled human milk of COVID-19–recovered donors with high-titer anti–SARS-CoV-2 Spike sIgA, resulting in a preparation that is >90% pure sIgA and enriched for Spike-specific antibodies capable of binding the Spike protein, blocking its receptor-binding domain interaction with angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), and neutralizing Spike-pseudotyped virus in vitro.[2] In K18+hACE2 transgenic mouse models, intranasal and intratracheal administration of LCTG-002 before and after SARS-CoV-2 challenge significantly reduced lung viral titers by up to 4.9 logs, improved weight loss relative to control IgA, and was well tolerated, supporting its further development as a mucosal polyclonal sIgA therapeutic for COVID-19.[1][2][3]
