LD013 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy specifically designed to target mesothelin (MSLN), a cell surface glycoprotein that is frequently overexpressed in various solid malignancies, including ovarian cancer, mesothelioma, and pancreatic cancer. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to mesothelin on the surface of tumor cells, leading to T-cell activation, expansion, and the subsequent targeted lysis of the cancer cells. LD013 is primarily developed for the treatment of patients with refractory or relapsed mesothelin-positive ovarian cancer and has been evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to establish safety and preliminary efficacy.
