Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LD2020 is an investigational small molecule inhibitor of Tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA), developed by Shanghai Lidao Pharmaceutical Technology for the treatment of osteoarthritis pain. TrkA is the high-affinity receptor for Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a neurotrophin that plays a pivotal role in the signaling and sensitization of pain-sensing neurons (nociceptors). By selectively inhibiting TrkA, LD2020 blocks the NGF-mediated signaling pathways that contribute to chronic inflammatory and neuropathic pain. This mechanism provides a targeted, non-opioid therapeutic approach intended to alleviate pain while avoiding the central nervous system side effects associated with traditional analgesics.
