LDR2402 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Leaderna Therapeutics (Chengdu Xianyan Biotechnology) for the treatment of essential hypertension. It is designed to target and silence the mRNA encoding angiotensinogen (AGT), the sole precursor of all angiotensin peptides in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). By inhibiting the hepatic production of AGT, LDR2402 aims to provide sustained reduction in blood pressure, potentially offering a long-acting treatment option that improves adherence over traditional daily oral therapies. The drug utilizes a GalNAc-conjugation delivery platform to ensure targeted uptake by hepatocytes.
