Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LDT715 is a small molecule inhibitor targeting *Plasmodium falciparum* Aurora kinase-2 (PfArk-2), a serine/threonine kinase essential for the parasite's development across multiple stages of its life cycle [6818]. Discovered through virtual screening of the ChemBridge commercial library, LDT715 has demonstrated potent in vitro antimalarial activity against both chloroquine-sensitive (3D7) and chloroquine-resistant (Dd2) strains of *P. falciparum*, with an EC50 of less than 100 nM [6818]. It exhibits low cytotoxicity in mammalian cells (COS-7 and HepG2) and acts rapidly during the early stages of asexual parasite development [6818].
