Drug intelligence / Profile preview
lean-MSC refers to Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cells (MSCs) derived from non-obese individuals. These cells are a type of cell therapy endowed with reparative properties, demonstrating superior function compared to MSCs derived from obese subjects. They are being investigated for their potential to ameliorate renal injury, primarily through paracrine mechanisms, immunomodulation, and anti-inflammatory effects. Studies indicate that lean-MSCs can improve renal perfusion, reduce hypoxia, decrease fibrosis, and lower blood pressure and serum creatinine in models of renal artery stenosis.
