LEAPS (Ligand Epitope Antigen Presentation System) peptides are a proprietary class of immunotherapeutic heteroconjugate peptides developed by CEL-SCI Corporation. These molecules consist of a specific immune-binding ligand (derived from proteins such as MHC II or IL-1) covalently linked to an antigenic peptide epitope. The LEAPS technology is designed to modulate the immune system by directing the response toward either a Th1 (cell-mediated) or Th2 (antibody-mediated) pathway, depending on the ligand used. This approach allows for the development of 'T-cell vaccines' that can treat or prevent infectious diseases (like Influenza or HSV) and autoimmune conditions (like Rheumatoid Arthritis) by inducing a targeted, antigen-specific immune response without the need for traditional adjuvants.
