Overview

Ledasorexton (E2086) is an orally bioavailable, selective orexin receptor type 2 (OX2R) agonist developed by Eisai. It is designed to promote wakefulness and control cataplexy by compensating for the loss of orexin-producing neurons, which is the underlying pathophysiology of narcolepsy. In clinical trials, ledasorexton has demonstrated the ability to significantly increase daytime wakefulness and reduce cataplexy-like episodes. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for the treatment of narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) and narcolepsy type 2 (NT2).
