Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ledermix is a topical dental paste used as an intracanal medicament in endodontic procedures. It is a combination drug containing two active pharmaceutical ingredients: demeclocycline calcium, a tetracycline-class antibiotic, and triamcinolone acetonide, a potent corticosteroid. This dual-action formulation provides both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, making it effective for managing acute irreversible pulpitis, acute apical periodontitis, and preventing inflammatory root resorption following dental trauma such as tooth avulsion and replantation. The antibiotic component targets bacterial infections within the root canal system by inhibiting protein synthesis, while the corticosteroid suppresses the inflammatory cascade, reducing pain and preventing tissue destruction.
