Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LEE011 placebo is the inert comparator used in clinical trials for ribociclib (LEE011), a selective cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitor developed by Novartis. It is designed to be physically identical to the active ribociclib tablets to ensure the integrity of double-blind study designs. In the context of the Phase II trial CLEE011X2201, it was used as the control arm for patients with relapsed, refractory, or incurable teratoma. As a placebo, it contains no active pharmaceutical ingredients and exerts no therapeutic effect, serving solely as a baseline for evaluating the efficacy and safety of the active drug.
