Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LemoCalm is a line of over-the-counter (OTC) multi-symptom relief products developed by Bristol Laboratories for the treatment of cold, flu, and cough symptoms. The product range includes several formulations: powders for oral solution, capsules, and an oral solution. These products utilize a combination of active ingredients to target various symptoms: paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by indirectly inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes; phenylephrine hydrochloride serves as a nasal decongestant through alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonism; caffeine is included in some formulations as a stimulant and analgesic adjuvant; and dextromethorphan hydrobromide acts as an antitussive for dry cough, putatively through sigma-1 and NMDA receptors. The line is designed to provide symptomatic relief from pain, fever, nasal congestion, and non-productive cough associated with upper respiratory tract infections.
