Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lenalidomide + liposomal doxorubicin** is a combination regimen of lenalidomide, an immunomodulatory and anti-angiogenic small molecule, with liposomal doxorubicin, a nanoparticle-formulated anthracycline chemotherapy. Lenalidomide acts to enhance immune-mediated anti-tumor activity and inhibit tumor angiogenesis, while liposomal doxorubicin delivers doxorubicin in a pegylated-liposome nanoparticle to improve pharmacokinetics and reduce systemic toxicity. The combination is primarily investigated in relapsed/refractory or recurrent hematologic cancers such as multiple myeloma and in recurrent epithelial ovarian cancers, exhibiting synergistic anti-neoplastic effects and an acceptable safety profile as evidenced in early phase clinical studies[1][3].
