Lenamilast (ITG-1052) is a small molecule phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor specifically designed for the treatment of respiratory diseases. It acts by inhibiting PDE4, an enzyme involved in the inflammatory response, thereby reducing inflammation in respiratory tissues. Lenamilast is being developed for indications such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory conditions. The drug was originally developed by Suzhou IntraGrand Pharma and has been licensed to Transpire Bio for further development and commercialization in these indications[1][2][3][4].
