Lenograstim is a glycosylated recombinant form of human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It acts as an immunostimulant by binding to and activating the granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor on hematopoietic cells. This stimulation leads to increased production, differentiation, and function of neutrophils. Lenograstim is primarily used to reduce the duration and severity of neutropenia in patients undergoing cytotoxic chemotherapy for non-myeloid malignancies or bone marrow transplantation. It also mobilizes peripheral blood progenitor cells for collection and accelerates engraftment after their reinfusion. The drug was developed by Chugai Pharmaceuticals under the brand name Granocyte[1][2][3][5].
