Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Lentiviral Vector Therapeutic HBV Vaccine is a preclinical-stage gene therapy and vaccine candidate developed by Jinwei Biotechnology for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. The vaccine utilizes a lentiviral vector platform to deliver Hepatitis B virus (HBV) antigens directly to antigen-presenting cells (APCs), such as dendritic cells and macrophages. By transducing these cells, the vaccine is designed to overcome the immune tolerance typically observed in chronic HBV infection and stimulate robust, multi-epitope HBV-specific T-cell responses. This immunotherapeutic approach aims to promote the clearance of HBV-infected hepatocytes and achieve a functional cure for chronic hepatitis B.
