Overview

Lenvatinib + taxane refers to the combination of lenvatinib, a multi-targeted receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, with a member of the taxane class of chemotherapeutic agents (such as paclitaxel or docetaxel). Lenvatinib inhibits multiple kinases involved in tumor angiogenesis and proliferation, including vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1-3), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR1-4), platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRα), KIT, and RET. Taxanes are microtubule-stabilizing agents that disrupt cell division by inhibiting microtubule depolymerization. The combination is being explored for synergistic anti-tumor effects in various cancers, particularly where both angiogenesis inhibition and cytotoxic chemotherapy may provide benefit[5][6][10]. This regimen is under investigation for advanced solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma and certain types of lung cancer.
