Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lepisor is a botanical drug product developed by the Spanish company Soria Natural for the treatment of mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult males. It is a combination herbal preparation containing extracts of *Orthosiphon stamineus* (Java tea) and *Lepidium latifolium* (perennial pepperweed). The product is classified as a phytotherapeutic medicine and has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials in Spain. Although its precise molecular mechanisms are not fully defined, it is believed to act through pathways common to herbal BPH treatments, such as the inhibition of 5α-reductase, anti-inflammatory effects, and the relaxation of smooth muscle in the prostate gland.
