Leptazumab (also known as CXD102) is a monoclonal antibody that functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. Developed by Celleron Therapeutics (now IngenOx Therapeutics), it is designed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, thereby revitalizing T-cell mediated anti-tumor immune responses. Leptazumab is primarily being investigated for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is frequently studied in combination with zabadinostat (CXD101), an HDAC inhibitor, in clinical trials such as the HACCA study, where the epigenetic modulation of zabadinostat is intended to enhance the efficacy of the PD-1 blockade.
