**LepVax** is an investigational, adjuvanted recombinant protein-subunit vaccine for prevention of leprosy and potential adjunctive immunotherapy in people with leprosy. It contains LEP-F1, an approximately 89-kDa tetravalent fusion protein comprising *Mycobacterium leprae* antigens ML2531, ML2380, ML2055, and ML2028, formulated with GLA-SE, a stable oil-in-water emulsion containing the synthetic Toll-like receptor 4 agonist glucopyranosyl lipid adjuvant. The antigen component is intended to induce antigen-specific cellular and humoral immunity against *M. leprae*, while GLA-SE promotes innate immune activation and a T helper 1-biased adaptive response. It completed first-in-human Phase 1 testing in healthy US adults and has advanced to Phase 1b/2a clinical development in Brazil. ([nature.com](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41541-018-0050-z))
