Overview

Leronlimab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets the CCR5 receptor on T lymphocytes. It acts as a CCR5 antagonist and is being developed for multiple indications including HIV infection, metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC), and other cancers. Leronlimab blocks the CCR5 receptor, preventing HIV from entering CD4+ cells and modulating immune responses. It has also been investigated for its potential to reduce inflammation in severe COVID-19 by mitigating cytokine storm effects. The drug was originally developed by Progenics Pharmaceuticals and is currently under development by CytoDyn with clinical trials ongoing or completed in several indications[1][2][3][4][5][6][7].
