Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lesinurad + allopurinol** is an oral fixed-dose urate-lowering combination formerly marketed as **Duzallo** for hyperuricemia associated with gout in adults who did not achieve target serum urate concentrations with an appropriate allopurinol dose alone. Lesinurad selectively inhibits renal urate transporter 1, reducing renal urate reabsorption and increasing urinary uric-acid excretion, while allopurinol inhibits xanthine oxidase to reduce uric-acid production. Duzallo was approved in the United States in 2017 in 200 mg lesinurad/200 mg allopurinol and 200 mg lesinurad/300 mg allopurinol tablet strengths; it was subsequently discontinued from marketing for commercial reasons.
