Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LesRom-S is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic injection developed and marketed by Unifaith Biotech. It contains cefpirome, a fourth-generation cephalosporin, and sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Cefpirome provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Sulbactam acts as a suicide inhibitor of beta-lactamase enzymes, thereby protecting cefpirome from degradation by resistant bacterial strains. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections.
