The let-7b-5p inhibitor is a research-use oligonucleotide reagent designed to silence the endogenous mature microRNA let-7b-5p. It is a chemically modified, antisense single-stranded oligonucleotide (typically featuring full-length 2'-methoxy modifications) that hybridizes with let-7b-5p, preventing the miRNA from binding to its target mRNAs. By inhibiting let-7b-5p function, the reagent allows for the upregulation of target genes such as HK2, DDX19A, NKD1, and those in the FTO/MYC signaling pathways. Preclinical research has utilized this inhibitor to study its effects on cell growth, viability, and self-renewal in various malignancies, including glioblastoma, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, and leukemia.
