Drug intelligence / Profile preview
let-7b-5p mimic is a synthetic double-stranded RNA oligonucleotide designed to mimic the activity of the endogenous tumor-suppressive microRNA let-7b-5p. It acts by binding to the 3'-untranslated regions (3'-UTRs) of target mRNAs, leading to translational repression or mRNA degradation. Key direct targets of let-7b-5p include cell cycle and oncogenic regulators such as CDK6, AURKB, HMGA2, IGF1, and IGF1R. Ectopic restoration of let-7b-5p using mimics has been widely investigated in preclinical research for its therapeutic potential in various cancers (including pancreatic, breast, and colon cancers) to overcome chemoresistance and inhibit tumor progression, as well as in cardiovascular conditions like aortic dissection and pulmonary embolism to suppress inflammation and pathological remodeling.
