Overview

let-7c mimic is a microRNA (miRNA) therapeutic designed to restore the levels of let-7c, a member of the let-7 tumor suppressor family that is frequently downregulated in various cancers, including multiple myeloma. In multiple myeloma, the downregulation of let-7c is often mediated by DNA methylation in its promoter region. The mimic functions by negatively regulating the expression of High Mobility Group AT-Hook 2 (HMGA2), a known oncogene that promotes cell proliferation, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Preclinical studies have demonstrated that administration of let-7c mimics can inhibit the growth of transplanted tumors and modulate the expression of EMT-related proteins such as E-cadherin and N-cadherin, suggesting its potential as a targeted therapy for hematological malignancies.
