Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Letrozole + maveropepimut-S is an investigational combination therapy consisting of letrozole, a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen production and is widely used in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, and maveropepimut-S (MVP-S), a therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system against survivin-expressing tumor cells. Letrozole works by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, thereby lowering estrogen levels and slowing the growth of hormone-dependent tumors. Maveropepimut-S is a peptide-based immunotherapy that targets survivin, an anti-apoptotic protein overexpressed in many cancers; it aims to induce T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells expressing survivin. The combination has been studied as neoadjuvant therapy for hormone receptor-positive early-stage breast cancer[4].
