Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Letrozole ISM (ROVI-2815) is a long-acting injectable formulation of the aromatase inhibitor letrozole, developed by Rovi using its proprietary In Situ Microparticles (ISM®) technology. The ISM® platform consists of a two-syringe system that, when mixed and injected intramuscularly, forms a solid or semi-solid matrix in the muscle tissue for controlled drug release. This formulation is intended for the treatment of hormone-dependent breast cancer, aiming to provide therapeutic levels of letrozole over several weeks or months, thereby improving patient compliance and potentially therapeutic outcomes compared to the standard daily oral dose. The project for its development is often referred to internally and in R&D grants as the LAISOLID project.
