Leu31Pro34-NPY

Leu31Pro34-NPY is a synthetic peptide analog of neuropeptide Y (NPY) that acts as a potent and selective agonist for the neuropeptide Y receptor Y1 (NPY1R), with some cross-reactivity for Y4 and Y5 receptors. It is widely utilized as a pharmacological research tool to investigate the physiological roles of Y1 receptor signaling, including its involvement in anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), memory consolidation, vasoconstriction, and pancreatic beta-cell survival. In preclinical studies, Leu31Pro34-NPY has been shown to protect mouse pancreatic islets against cytokine-induced apoptosis and to prevent stress-induced depressive-like behaviors in animal models.
