Overview

The trial compares standard versus prolonged durations of either the mFOLFIRINOX regimen (comprising leucovorin, fluorouracil, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin) or the gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel (GnP) regimen. These treatments are administered prior to surgical resection to improve overall survival and resection rates. mFOLFIRINOX works through a combination of DNA alkylation, thymidylate synthase inhibition, and topoisomerase I inhibition, while GnP utilizes an antimetabolite and a microtubule-stabilizing agent to disrupt cancer cell division and induce apoptosis.
