Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DNP001 (leukotuximab) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody targeting the JL1 epitope of sialophorin (CD43), a transmembrane glycoprotein highly expressed on the surface of acute leukemia cells but absent on mature peripheral blood cells and normal tissues. Originally developed by the University of Seoul and DiNonA, the asset was licensed to 3SBio for development in China and to Aprogen for subsequent development, with DiNonA later being acquired by Kumho HT. DNP001 exerts cytotoxic effects on JL1-positive leukemia cells, primarily through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of acute leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Additionally, the platform is being explored for optimization as a CAR-T cell therapy or bispecific antibody for solid cancers, including gastric cancer.
