Overview

LEV-102 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Levation Pharma for the treatment of acquired blepharoptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid). The active pharmaceutical ingredient is oxymetazoline, a non-selective alpha-adrenergic agonist. LEV-102 is uniquely formulated as a proprietary, rapidly drying aqueous gel containing penetration enhancers, designed for topical application to the skin of the upper eyelid. This transdermal delivery system allows the drug to permeate the eyelid to reach Mueller's muscle—an involuntary muscle responsible for eyelid elevation—where it induces contraction to lift the lid. This approach aims to improve both the visual field and cosmetic appearance of patients, offering a non-invasive alternative to surgery or ophthalmic drops. The gel is designed to be compatible with cosmetic use, functioning similarly to an eyeshadow primer.
