Levall

Levall is a combination pharmaceutical product formulated as an oral solution for the symptomatic relief of cough, nasal congestion, and chest congestion associated with acute respiratory conditions such as the common cold, bronchitis, or sinusitis. It contains three active ingredients: **carbetapentane** (also known as pentoxyverine), a non-opioid antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex through Sigma-1 receptor agonism; **guaifenesin**, an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions to facilitate their clearance; and **phenylephrine**, a sympathomimetic decongestant that acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist to induce vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing swelling and congestion. Originally developed by Athlon Pharmaceuticals and licensed to Auriga Laboratories, Levall provides a multi-modal approach to managing upper respiratory symptoms, though many similar unapproved combination products were later removed from the market following FDA regulatory actions.
