Levomekol

Levomekol is a topical combination ointment manufactured by Viola Pharmaceutica Fabrika. It contains two active ingredients: chloramphenicol (levomycetin), a broad-spectrum antibiotic, and methyluracil, a tissue regeneration stimulant. Chloramphenicol exerts its antimicrobial effect by binding to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis in a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including staphylococci and *E. coli*. Methyluracil promotes wound healing by stimulating cellular regeneration and nucleic acid metabolism. The ointment is primarily indicated for the treatment of purulent wounds in the first phase of the wound process, as well as boils, trophic ulcers, and infected burns. It exhibits combined antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and reparative actions.
