A combination therapy consisting of levonorgestrel (a synthetic progestogen commonly used in contraceptives) and metformin (an insulin-sensitizing drug). This combination is being studied for the treatment of endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN), endometrial cancer (EC), and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). For endometrial conditions, it is typically administered as a levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) plus oral metformin, while for PCOS it may be given as oral contraceptive pills containing levonorgestrel plus oral metformin.
