Levorx-M-Kid is a pediatric finished pharmaceutical formulation marketed by SBM Enterprises. It is a fixed-dose combination of levocetirizine, a second-generation H1-antihistamine, and montelukast, a selective cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonist. This combination is primarily indicated for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial) and the management of comorbid asthma in children. Levocetirizine works by competitively inhibiting H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing allergic symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks the action of leukotriene D4 on the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor CysLT1, which helps to reduce airway inflammation, mucus production, and bronchoconstriction. As a 'Kid' formulation, it is typically available in lower strengths suitable for pediatric dosing, such as dispersible tablets or syrups.
