Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TusQ-LS Junior is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Blue Cross Laboratories. It is specifically formulated for pediatric use to manage productive cough associated with conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and other obstructive airway diseases. The medication combines three active ingredients: levosalbutamol (the R-enantiomer of salbutamol), which acts as a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist to relax bronchial smooth muscle; ambroxol, a mucolytic agent that breaks down acid mucopolysaccharide fibers to thin the sputum; and guaifenesin, an expectorant that increases the volume of fluid in the respiratory tract to facilitate mucus removal. This combination helps in clearing the airways and facilitating easier expectoration of mucus in children.
