Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Levroso Long is a fixed-dose combination of diphenhydramine and melatonin developed by NovaMedica for the treatment of insomnia in adults. It is formulated as modified-release capsules containing a combination of immediate-release diphenhydramine (to facilitate sleep initiation) and extended-release melatonin (to maintain sleep quality and duration throughout the night). Diphenhydramine acts as a first-generation antihistamine by antagonizing central histamine H1 receptors, while melatonin acts as an agonist at MT1 and MT2 receptors to regulate the circadian rhythm and sleep-wake cycle. The drug is approved and marketed in Russia.
