Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lexatumumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 2 (TRAIL-R2, also known as death receptor 5 or DR5). It was developed as an investigational anti-cancer agent designed to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by activating the extrinsic apoptotic pathway through binding and agonism of TRAIL-R2. Lexatumumab was primarily investigated for the treatment of various solid tumors and hematological malignancies. The drug was originally developed by Human Genome Sciences.
