Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LG203003 is an investigational small molecule diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (DGAT2) inhibitor being developed by LG Chem for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). By selectively inhibiting DGAT2, a key enzyme in triglyceride synthesis, the drug aims to suppress fat accumulation in liver cells, thereby reducing liver damage, inflammation, and fibrosis. LG203003 is LG Chem's second NASH candidate and entered Phase 1 clinical trials in 2022 to evaluate safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and patients with NAFLD.
