LG303174 is a small molecule inhibitor of vascular adhesion protein-1 (VAP-1), also known as amine oxidase copper-containing 3 (AOC3), being developed by LG Chem for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). VAP-1 is an enzyme and adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of vascular endothelial cells that facilitates the recruitment of leukocytes to inflamed tissues, including the liver. By inhibiting the catalytic activity of VAP-1, LG303174 aims to reduce hepatic inflammation and subsequent fibrosis, addressing the complex pathophysiology of chronic liver disease. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
