Overview

LGD3 is a uridine-based paramagnetic self-assembled amphiphilic molecule designed as a T1 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent. It features a DTTA binding site and exhibits high relaxivity in solution, which is further enhanced in the presence of human serum albumin. LGD3 demonstrates high specificity for hepatocytes, leading to a significant increase in contrast-to-noise ratio in T1-weighted MR images of the liver, enabling the detection of small hepatocellular carcinoma lesions.
