Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liangxue Heying Fang + Liangxue Huayu Fang is a combination of two Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoctions primarily utilized for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, specifically the blood-heat syndrome. Developed and extensively researched by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, this combination protocol aims to address the systemic inflammation and epidermal hyperproliferation characteristic of psoriasis. Liangxue Heying Fang focuses on cooling the blood and harmonizing the nutritive (Ying) level, while Liangxue Huayu Fang emphasizes cooling the blood and resolving blood stasis. Pharmacological studies indicate that the combination modulates the immune response by inhibiting the IL-23/IL-17 inflammatory axis, downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha, and restoring the balance between Th17 and Treg cells. It is typically administered as an oral decoction or granule formulation.
