Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liangxue ointment is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical formulation developed for the management of hand-foot syndrome (HFS), a common dermatological toxicity associated with vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKIs). The formulation is based on the TCM principle of "cooling the blood" (Liangxue) to address the heat and toxins believed to cause the erythema, pain, and skin peeling characteristic of HFS. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as NCT06583369, as a potential alternative or adjunct to standard treatments like urea cream to improve patient quality of life and maintain adherence to primary cancer therapies.
