LIB-01

LIB-01 is a novel small molecule drug candidate being developed as an oral treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) and premature ejaculation. It is a semi-synthetic analog inspired by active compounds found in root bark traditionally used for male sexual health[1][2]. The drug aims to provide a longer duration of effect and fewer side effects compared to current ED therapies, with early clinical data suggesting improved erectile function lasting up to four weeks after dosing—an unprecedented finding in the field[2]. Developed by Dicot Pharma, LIB-01 has completed preclinical studies demonstrating strong safety and efficacy signals. Phase 1 clinical trials showed a very good safety profile with no serious adverse events[5], and Phase 2a trials are ongoing as of 2024 to further evaluate efficacy in men with ED[3][7]. The mechanism of action is described as differentiated from existing drugs but has not been fully disclosed; research into its mode of action continues, including potential benefits for metabolic diseases such as obesity and diabetes[2][6].
